Introduction
Pillai College of Architecture celebrated International Yoga Day on 21st June, 2024, with great enthusiasm and participation from students, faculty, and staff. The event aimed to promote the physical, mental, and spiritual benefits of yoga, fostering a sense of community and well-being within the college.

Event Highlights
The celebration commenced with an inaugural session in the college assembly hall. The principal Dr. Sudnya Mahimkar welcomed everyone and highlighted the importance of incorporating yoga into daily life for overall well-being. She also emphasized the relevance of yoga for students and professionals in the field of architecture, given the demanding nature of their work.

A comprehensive yoga workshop was conducted by Mr. Parag Javdekar and Mrs. Shraddha Javdekar who are the vertified yoga trainers since past 10 years. Mr. Parag being the founder of Align yoga fitness center.

Introduction to Yoga: Mr. Parag explained the history and philosophy of yoga, emphasizing its holistic approach to health and guided the participants through various basic asanas (postures) designed to improve flexibility, strength, and balance. The session included breathing exercises aimed at enhancing concentration and reducing stress.

The workshop concluded with a guided meditation session, promoting mental clarity and relaxation. This was conducted by Ms. Nivedita Shreyans.

Interactive Session
Following the workshop, an interactive session was held where participants could ask questions and share their experiences. Mr. Parag addressed various queries related to integrating yoga into a busy lifestyle, specific benefits of different asanas, and ways to maintain consistency in practice.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks to all the event organizers and to the attendees. Dr. Sudnya Mahimkar expressed her gratitude to the organizing committee, and all participants for making the event a success. She reiterated the college’s commitment to promoting holistic health and well-being through such initiatives.

The International Yoga Day celebration at the Architecture College was a success, fostering a sense of community and encouraging the adoption of healthy practices.
